In Good Taste: 4 Finger-Lickin' Good Strategies for a Palatable Online Reputation

Think about the last time you were going out for dinner and wanted to try a new restaurant.

Why did you choose that particular spot?!

If you're like most of us, you probably searched online or looked at several review sites for a venue with flattering reviews and therefore, an excellent reputation.

While having a positive online reputation is great for restaurants (who rely heavily on favorable reviews to pull customers in), does it really matter for your business too, even if you're not in the same type of industry? The long and short of it is, YES. Absolutely.

At PR Whores our reputation management team knows that today's customers, as well as new & repeat business, rely look to the wonderful World Wide Web for hunting down the products and services they need.

They also utilize the internet to:
- peruse consumer review platforms
- check out your new promotions on social media
- read through your web site to formulate an opinion about what they find and who they ultimately purchase from.

But this isn't just the case for restaurants, so don’t kid yourself... They're even doing this with YOUR business!

With that being said, here are 4 simple strategies for building a positive online reputation so the prospects and customers who find your products or services online will have plenty to rave about themselves when it comes to BUYING FROM YOU:

1. Boast about your products & services with a BLOG.
By having a blog that is regularly updated with articles that cover everything from what your company is doing (PR) to how you use systems or even observances about the markets or products helps in establishing you as an expert. The key here is that articles need to be regular – at least twice a week – and relevant to the reader.

2. Reward those who leave RAVE REVIEWS.
Reviews from your actual customers/clients/patrons are incredibly important (we can't stress this enough). A recent study published on Reputation.com revealed that a whopping 92% of internet users read internet reviews when shopping for something online. To go even further, an astonishing 89% of users trust online reviews...which is why having a multitude of them accessible on the web is so crucial.

Why not encourage customers to review your products and/or services on various online review sites (such as Google Reviews, Yelp, Kudzu or CitySearch). In exchange, offer them an incentive such as a FREE sample of your newest product line or a discount off one of your special services!

3. Generate some PUBLICITY.
You aren't going to establish an optimal online reputation by doing nothing (we know, it's hard to believe). This means you’ll have to work at it and ultimately, GET IT OUT THERE. Do this by:

- writing feature articles or press releases
- generating frequent blogs about your business to inform readers about why they need your products/services
- doing some web advertising (such as Google AdWords or web banners) to promote your company digitally as much as possible.

4. Become more active on the SOCIAL scene.
78% of consumers believe it is significantly important to look up information about a company's product/service online before actually interacting or doing business with them. If you have an active & visible web presence for your brand (as well as your specific products or services), you are more likely to be found and be perceived as having a better reputation than your competition, especially if they're not as easy to find online as YOU are.

Rome wasn't built in a day... and neither will your reputation. You are going to need to work hard on it with daily updates, continuous monitoring and most of all, patience. Many experts agree it can take at least 3 months to see any results, and possibly years to see a truly solid online reputation established for your brand (even if you're not a restaurant).

The Cold Shoulder: Why Ignoring Social Media Complaints Isn't Such a Hot Idea

It's amazing that even in today’s social media -savvy business environment, there are still big companies out there which fail to engage with their customers... particularly those who are frustrated or unhappy.

A variety of research shows ignoring those customers is the worst possible strategy.
One extremely significant example (if you haven't heard of this already) is “United Breaks Guitars, But not the Silence.” This infamous incident took place in 2008 when a tweet was recently sent to United Airlines by a customer via social media, but was never answered (Dave Carroll of the Sons of Maxwell band claimed United Airlines broke his $3,500 guitar while traveling from Halifax to Nebraska).

There was no response, zero acknowledgement of the post, or anything so much as a direct message re-directing the customer's complaint... even though multiple tweets were posted in association with the United Airlines name. After publicizing his negative experience online for an entire year using social media, the company's failure to respond to Carroll reportedly resulted in astronomical damage to the United Airlines brand... as in, a whopping $180 million in lost business.

For a multitude of understandable reasons many companies choose not to engage with complainers like Dave Carroll mainly because they think there's no upside to such conversations, they don't feel they can actually fix the problem(s) at hand, or because they refuse to spend any money in order to alleviate the situation. A recent survey shows 4 out of 5 consumer complaints are currently ignored, and here are some noteworthy facts about what can happen as a result:

82% of those surveyed admit they will stop doing business with a company based on just one poor experience.

- About 89% of consumers reportedly began doing business with a competitor following poor customer service or a less than favorable experience with a company.

- 21% of complaints which receive a response tend to have a more optimistic attitude upon being recognized.

- 46% of customers report feeling pleased, merely by seeing/reading a response regarding their complaint(s).

- 22% of people actually post a positive comment about a company or brand after receiving some type of acknowledgement of their publicized concern(s).

Keeping Your Current Customers

The drive to maintain and acquire new customers has always been paired with the mantra, “It is much more profitable to keep an existing customer than to go looking for a new one.” Although this seems to be wise advice, it's unfortunately often ignored in practice.

Businesses which fail to respond to complaints in a timely manner can risk losing the same customers they've spent large sums of money to earn them in the first place. In fact, statistics show even when the problem is no longer fixable, a simple apology can still turn a negative attitude into a positive one.

If your brand or company could use some assistance with effective reputation management CLICK HERE to learn more about our services NOW.

Here's to spreading a warm message when it comes to your brand, instead of giving the cold shoulder!

Three's Company: 3 Ways Medical Practices Can Combat Negative Online Reviews

The internet has brought with it a sea of change in how people get their information and how they judge products and services- and physicians are not immune.

A physician's reputation was once established and passed along by word of mouth, but now it can be greatly influenced by what patients are posting on the web. Now anyone can "Google" a name to know more about a healthcare provider and when they do... more than likely the links to several online review sites (reflecting both good and bad opinions) are going to come up at the top of the search.

Here are 3 simple suggestions medical practices can easily implement a few minutes each day to take care of those not-so-nice negative reviews:

1. Respond to the complaint online.
Some sites give you the opportunity to comment under the review or extend the conversation. You can address the review directly and if the negative reviews are on yelp, you can create a free business account and you can message the customers publicly. Identify yourself, explain your perspective, address inaccuracies (if any), apologize (only if warranted) or mention you will consider the suggestion. Respond professionally, with compassion and make suggestions that will improve the patient’s next visit.

2. Ask patients to review your practice online.
By doing this it has been found that 80% of the patients are more likely to leave positive reviews. But they may not think they will do it unless you recommend or suggest it. So encourage all your patients to leave their feedback on a review site (such as CitySearch / Yelp / Angie's List, etc.) and you will likely see more positive reviews.

3. Identify the patients who leave negative reviews and discuss it with them.
We know it's extremely easy for people to be very angry and critical online. They can also be fairly anonymous and don’t have to say anything to you directly. If you can identify this person through their negative reviews, however, consider contacting them directly to address their concerns.

Sometimes just reaching out to a dissatisfied patient can calm the situation (because they'll definitely recognize you care after hearing their complaint). You may be able to explain your perspective and diffuse the situation well enough that he/she might just be willing to remove that negative review (which was posted in a sheer moment of frustration on their end).

Oh and don't forget... You can always make use of your own company web site and social media platforms to showcase all the positive reviews and testimonials from your patients. The more content you publish on the web promoting your medical practice in a positive light, the more likely your current and prospective patients are to believe the good over the bad & ugly.

W-W-W...What?! PR Whores Has 5 Tips for Creating the Best Web Site (Domain) Name

If you currently don't have a web site for your company but are now considering having one made... we at the PR Whores reputation management firm would like to:

a) Welcome you to 2013! Most people today search for products and/or services ONLINE prior to becoming an actual customer. So if you're hopping on the bandwagon today, we welcome you!

b) Remind you to make your web site (or domain) name easy to remember, simple to type and basic enough for users to pass along to others (for site/sales referrals).

With that being said, here are 5 great tips from our friends at Weebly for choosing the best domain (or web site) name for your business--

1. Keep it Short. The simplest way for a visitor to reach your site is by typing your domain directly into their browser’s address bar. Make this easier for them by buying a domain name that is short and to the point. Try not to go over twenty characters, and if you can keep it even shorter then all the better.

2. Be Simple and Obvious.
Your domain name is essentially the "name" of your site. That name should be easy to both remember and spell. Are you creating a portfolio or personal site? Use your first and last name as the address. Creating a site for your business? Use the name of your business.

3. Avoid Numerals, Underscores and Hyphens If You Can.
Sometimes it's not possible to follow the second tip because the name you want is already taken. As an example, let’s say you own a bakery named Brooke’s Bakery. The obvious choice for your domain name is brookesbakery.com.

4. Use Keywords and Cleverness if Necessary.
What if our bakery example was focused on a specific type of baked good? Brookesbreads.com or brookespies.com would be good alternatives to the company name.

5. Register Your Domain for Multiple Years.
We’re not saying this simply because it means you’re spending more money. Search engines like Google actually look at the domain’s length of registration to help judge the legitimacy of your site. A longer term registration looks more legitimate and makes them more likely to rank you highly. It won’t necessarily mean a huge boost, but every little bit helps.

So there you have it. Five solid tips for selecting the best domain name for your new company web site. And when you're ready to add in the fancy stuff, like social media content, blogs & online reputation management ...contact us. We're here to help!

From Big Rich Atlanta to Big Rich & Famous: An Interview with Reality TV Star Meagan McBrayer

You may know her from the Style Network's hit reality series (from January 2013) Big Rich Atlanta...but do you really KNOW Meagan McBrayer ?

One of our PR Whores writers had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with the blonde bombshell this afternoon to discuss her recent rise to stardom as well as what fans can expect next.

When McBrayer arrived for her interview (adorned in a white and blue skirt suit with a white Prada bag), she took a seat in the conference room gracefully with a huge smile on her face...appearing more than ready to spill the good news.

While Meagan was unsure about whether there would be a second season of Big Rich Atlanta ... She was very happy to inform us that the show is currently airing in Australia and in parts of the U.K.

McBrayer was even more enthusiastic to discuss her biggest project that's scheduled to launch at the end of the month, which is her very own fashion boutique web site: PoppyRed.com .

Poppy Red will feature an array of eye candy for fashionistas worldwide including:

-- an official blog to document her fabulous shopping finds & noteworthy encounters along the way
-- fashion tips and the latest scoop on new trends across the globe
-- Meagan's seasonal top picks for clothing, handbags & accessories
-- an online store for friends & followers to purchase vintage (and brand new) items as well as other stylish must-haves

So while the reality show's first season may have come to an end for the season, Meagan has already utilized her recent celebrity status to boost her entrepreneurial endeavors in the fashion industry.

Ultimately Meagan hopes to parlay her brief television career into something much more lucrative.. similar to one of her favorite style icons, Rachel Zoe.

At the PR Whores Online Reputation Management Firm we all wish you well, Meagan...and we eagerly anticipate the launch of your fashion boutique web site.

After all, women like us ALWAYS need new clothes, shoes & bags for work (or actually for any occasion, really).

Here's to fab fashion & fun!

PR Whores : If Corporate America Hands You Lemons

It's amazing how many of us uphold such a proud allegiance to our professional roles in Corporate America.

Because of those jobs, millions of employees spend countless hours during their work week

- commuting to and from the office each day
- answering & returning phone calls
- sending & responding to emails
- organizing meetings/sitting in on meetings/scheduling follow-up meetings
- and our favorite... being stuck in an upright sedentary position while pushing papers and tappity-tapping on our computer keyboards within the confines of our designated work spaces. Sound familiar? We thought so.

If the above bullet points happen to be an accurate (or somewhat similar) description of your "typical day at the office," here's a thought-provoking question for you to ponder:

Is this reason why Americans are in such a rush as children and adolescents to grow up... to ultimately become one of the dime-a-dozen drones of a bustling beehive that we call our career?

During my college years I firmly believed that was the sole purpose of earning a degree. You do 4 years of time in the classroom, accept your diploma, head out into the workforce, and patiently climb your way up the totem pole until you reach the top. Well from personal experience over the past decade I've changed my views on that whole "grow-up-and-work-9-to-5-until-you-retire" philosophy.

Why? Because I've concluded that while masses of Americans still contribute years of relentless devotion to one company in hopes that he/she will someday become "the boss," there is also a select few people out there who are capable of finding wealth & success elsewhere-- by being their OWN boss. I happen to fall into the latter category, thanks to Corporate America... And here's how I made that discovery:

As a former rodent of several 9-to-5-type jobs in the past I too, ran vigorously in my hamster wheel (in other words, worked in a cubicle) for hours on end, year after year... going through the monotonous motions of my required duties daily, only to come back the next day and perform the same routine for the same result and the same pay. Were these jobs challenging enough to broaden my horizons intellectually or financially? No. But was it steady income? Yes, so I naively kept plugging away. Little did I know that Corporate America (whom I trusted to take care of me in exchange for all my hard work) had no intentions of retaining me in its business arena for the long haul.

Envision a scenario like this for a brief moment-- During your stint as a full-time employee at your office job, just when you have think you've made it up the corporate ladder, achieved well-deserved tenure and/or proven your unconditional loyalty to your employer... They execute a round of office-wide layoffs and your seemingly-important position is among the myriad of others which are suddenly deemed as unimportant. In a nutshell, you are instantly eliminated from the company roster.

As a result you are abruptly left with no job, zero stake in the company, you are stripped of your healthcare & retirement benefits and of course, you have no Plan B to fall back on (since you've devoted yourself wholeheartedly to this organization all these years).

This unfortunate scenario actually happened to my own father, several of our colleagues here at PR Whores , many of our previous coworkers (which is why we obviously no longer work together), and even to me personally. More than once. Sounds insane, right?

The character of Garden Greene in the 1997 film Con Air offers an interesting interpretation of what he considers "insane." Greene explains it like this:

“What if I told you insane was working 50 hours a week in some office for 50 years at the end of which they tell you to piss-off... [then you end] up in some retirement village, hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet on time… Wouldn't you consider that to be insane?"

Interestingly enough, Greene's take on insanity seems to bear a huge resemblance to the real-life situations both men & women have had to endure, thanks to Corporate America.

Based on the frustrations I harbored because of my unpredictable employment setbacks, I decided in 2009 to start my own LLC. In a matter of just months I had a full-fledged marketing/promotions/consulting company, an official web site, snazzy business cards & all my social media accounts set up. I rapidly began partnering up with businesses of any shape and size (from the fitness industry to copy editing/writing to brand ambassador marketing to promotional spokes modeling, you name it). In less than one year of my company's inception, I was earning more money in one week than I used to bring home in two weeks as a salaried employee. Today my organization is contracted by more businesses simultaneously than I can count on two hands. What a much better dilemma to be faced with, instead of the fear of spontaneously becoming unemployed.

I'll be the first to admit-- Losing my job(s) unexpectedly was an extremely indelible (not to mention humbling) experience. The good news, however, is that over time I've auspiciously been able to bounce back and gravitate much closer toward my true calling in life.

Prior to becoming my own boss I originally perceived Corporate America as evil... for suddenly letting me go from jobs and for being so apathetic about my record of dismissals from the 9-to-5 scene. What I didn't realize though, was that Corporate America was in fact liberating me from all those desk jobs... and simply handing me lemons. For those two reasons I am now eternally grateful for who and where I am today.

Sure... We can be at the mercy of our employers for our entire lives if we so desire, and continue living to work instead of working to live. But if you opt for that particular route be sure to ask yourself: Is your current position at your office what you believe to be your true calling in life? Are you 100% confident that your immediate supervisor/the CEO of your company has your best interests at heart? Could you count on the "big wigs" at this organization to help you pay your bills and feed your family if you were to be pink-slipped TOMORROW? And after asking yourself these questions... If you find yourself in a state of uncertainty about your occupational fate in any capacity, then perhaps this is an opportune time for you to seek greener vocational pastures. Just in case.

In this dreary economy our PR Whores staff unanimously believes there is no one will be unconditionally dedicated to furnishing you with an eternal salary or a life of infinite enrichment in this world... but YOU.

So the moral of the story is this: If Corporate America hands you lemons, you know what to do: Simply utilize the resources you have been given as well as the knowledge you have gained over time, and manifest that into a refreshing vat of lemonade.

Cheers!

3 Ways to Make Positive Memories This Memorial Day Weekend 2013

Memorial Day weekend... it's a U.S. national holiday many Americans associate with having a 3-day weekend, hitting the beach & even irresistible promotional sales from your favorite stores or shopping sites.

But what is Memorial Day really about? Turns out, this famous (or maybe infamous for others) national holiday was actually set in 1868 for May the 5th, to honor those who died during World War I.

It wasn't until the National Holiday Act of 1971 that Memorial Day was moved to the last Monday of May and changed to commemorate all Americans who died in any war, and not just those killed in the World War I line of fire.

Fast forward to today... where Memorial Day has now become more of a pre-summer bash comprised of skimpy bikinis & coolers full of ice-cold beer for hundreds of thousands of Americans.

The question now is: Have we lost the true meaning of honoring those who served our country, or have we just evolved as free-spirits in our ability to celebrate national holidays?

At the PR Whores Online Reputation Managment Firm we most certainly want all of you to enjoy your 3-day weekend...but we also urge you to make wise decisions in order to protect your image as well as your reputation on and offline. Here are

3 Things You Can Do to Make Positive Memorial Day Memories in 2013:

1. Set an auto-reply for your work email account if you are going on vacation. This will inform your colleagues and prospective clients/customers that you are out of town temporarily, and that you aren't just ignoring their messages. You may want to update the voice message greeting on your mobile device as well, if you generally receive a lot of work calls outside of typical business hours.

2) Be mindful of the status updates & pictures you post on your social media accounts. Thanks to the evolution of the internet...just about anyone can look you up on the web at any time and discover those not-so-professional photos of you in a scantily clad outfit, drinking alcoholic beverages/smoking a cigarette, or simply engaging in debaucherous activities in a public setting (aka, having fun). These posts, although they may be very engaging to viewers, may not be the most flattering for your career image, should someone work-related come across them...so be careful what you upload!

3) Resume your work week at full-speed, sans the hangover or "laid back beach bum" demeanor. When your cohorts and  other business contacts see that you are conducting business as usual immediately after your holiday weekend festivities, they will continue to hold you in high regard and respect you in the workplace (and rightfully so)!

So there you have it. 3 simple ways you can indirectly preserve (or even improve) your merit both in person, and on the internet.

These easy-to-follow tips from our PR Whores team may just keep you out of hot water (unless it's the beach)...so you can avoid the need for Online Reputation Management or any Public Relations services to execute damage control after what some would view as a "wild weekend" in paradise.

Here's to an unforgettable Memorial Day weekend bash...without an individual or professional reputation crash!

Tebow & Arrow: Does Football Star Tim Tebow Actually Have a Bright Future in the NFL ?

Tim Tebow is front and center in the media again.

But this time...it’s not a result of his publicly disclosed faith or his phenomenal abilities on the gridiron.

Now it's because his fans and the media are raving about the recent results of the 2013 NFL Draft ( which, for those of you who don't know, left Tebow canned and without a current position on any NFL team roster ).

To bring you up to speed if you don't follow college sports ... Tebow’s NFL quarterback career , as we know it, now officially is in question.

The New York Jets reportedly dumped Tebow last week, and no other football teams are showing interest at the moment in taking up this young Christian athlete ( who is known mostly for his college career at the University of Florida ).

To add insult to (non-sports related) injury, statistics like Tebow's draft results typically show that one successful season and an “iconic status” in the NFL doesn't quite seem to be enough to guarantee a spot on any pro roster in the future.

Whether Tebow will have a future career in the NFL or not is unclear, but one thing is evident at this point in Tebow’s journey: he will not give up or stay down for very long.

If you're like us at the PR Whores Firm and you're a fan of Tebow’s football career or his passion for standing up publicly for his religious beliefs, we can't deny that the man certainly is resilient.

At PR Whores we suspect ( from evaluating his work ethic and character over the past decade ), that this Florida alum will make it big in life... even if his NFL career is over like a 64-bit Super Mario Kart game gone bad.

We're well aware that Tebow probably won't need the specialized PR and marketing skills of our staff here at PR Whores (to make his reputation look sexy online again), because Tebow is a fighter and we're sure he will rise again very soon (and plus he's already sexy. There. We said it!).

Nonetheless, our online reputation management  ( ORM ) team is here for companies, as well as high-profile individuals in similar situations.

The PR Whores want to help all you wonderful people out there  who are in need of guidance for managing negative press online

Our current roster & existing clients include:

- celebrities, actors & musicians

- athletes & recreational organizations

- business executives & corporate employees

- pastors, priests or religious leaders

- CEOs, COOs, CMOs, & CFOs

- small business owners or sales people

-- and even an entire brand identity.

So basically what we're trying to say is this: Why not give the experts in Negative PR Management the reigns to bring your reputation back to life? The PR Whores promise to make your business (or individual reputation) look sexy online.

Feel free to email us for more details at: info@PRWhores.com or give us a call today at (770) ORM-1802.

And if you're reading this Tim Tebow , we are here for you too, buddy... if you need our PR help (or a date for Saturday night. Wink!).--The PR Whores

"Think-o" de Mayo: 3 Reasons Why Excessive Cinco Celebrations Could Damage Your Reputation

It's funny how Cinco de Mayo has become a bigger deal in the U.S. than in Mexico.

Many people aren't even aware of its significance. No, it's not Mexican Independence Day, as many may believe... It's actually a commemoration of the Mexican army's victory over the French during the Franco-Mexican war in 1862!

Okay it wasn't really a victory... but the 2,000 rag-tag soldiers fighting for Mexico basically forced the 6,000 men from the French army to withdraw less than 24 hours after storming the city of Puebla.

In a nutshell, although the Mexican army was outnumbered & poorly equipped to go into battle, they were able to stand strong against France, forcing the French to raise a white flag first.

And that, dear friends, is the reason why we celebrate the 5th of May!

So why is the PR Whores Online Reputation Management Firm blogging about Cinco de Mayo ? Here's why-- because for the thousands (or maybe millions) of us who will be taking part in debaucherous activities today, it is imperative that we do not celebrate to excess...for the sake of our reputations!

With that being said, here are 3 reasons why extravagant Cinco celebrations could be detrimental to your image:

1) The paparazzi are everywhere. You don't have to be a celebrity to fall victim to candid pictures taken by fellow margarita-drinkers who you may or may not know... People lovvvvve to take pictures (especially when there are adult libations involved), and you never know where those photos will end up. Wouldn't you hate to wake up tomorrow to find pics of yourself in a drunken stupor, polluting your Facebook news feed and Instagram home page? Yikes. Hopefully your hair will have at least looked nicely tousled... and let's pray everyone noticed your killer outfit more than your inebriated facial expressions!

2) You may inadvertently become a movie star overnight. With the majority of adults carrying smart phones these days, chances are someone will break out the video camera on their mobile device and capture you and your crew's gregarious shenanigans. Next thing you know, your low-budget "movie" has gone viral on YouTube and viewers worldwide will be laughing uncontrollably at you...and not with you. Remember the curling iron hair tutorial video that totally bonked, but went viral because it was hilarious? That could happen to you.

3) Your hometown is a lot smaller than you think. We live in Atlanta, and while most believe it to be a "big city," it's actually not. You know how we know? Because meeting others in Atlanta is like playing the "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game. Everyone you meet knows at least one person you know, are related to, or have dated. What that means is, people talk. It's always good to be mindful of your behavior (especially in alcohol establishments) because you never know who will be gossiping about you and your seemingly harmless actions at the water cooler tomorrow. Just a heads up.

Don't get us wrong...the PR Whores aren't saying you SHOULDN'T enjoy Cinco de Mayo ... we're merely advising you to be vigilant about your surroundings as well as what you do or say while you're out celebrating.

As a public relations company we've dealt with quite a bit of unfortunate incidents which have required immediate attention to preserve a company's (or high-profile individual's) reputation on the internet. Don't let those unfortunate incidents happen to you.

Our motto at PR Whores for this pseudo-holiday is simply this: "Think-o before you drink-o on Cinco."

Let the fiesta begin!

Reese's Pieces: Why This Legally Blonde Star is Eating Her Words Following a Recent Arrest

Reese Witherspoon ’s “award winning” performance as a concerned wife this past weekend landed her a less than prestigious seat in Atlanta’s jail.

Atlanta’s rise in the film industry in recent years has brought great economic benefit to Georgia, but will this benefit be coupled with negative press for many important people involved? For Reese Witherspoon it is yet to be determined.

Witherspoon apologized this week after her run-in with the cops early last Friday morning. What began as a common weekend occurrence in the lively city of Atlanta, ended up sounding like a scene from an emotional Witherspoon drama-- The actress got a little out of hand (verbally) with a police officer while her husband, Jim Toth, was being arrested for a DUI.

Having had time to sober up, Witherspoon apologized profusely for her behavior.
“I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said,” the actress said in a statement. “It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police, and I'm very sorry for my behavior.”

Witherspoon, whose earlier films include Legally Blonde and Sweet Home Alabama, won a shelf full of awards, in addition to her performance as June Carter Cash in Walk the Line.
Witherspoon was the latest actress to be crowned “America's Sweetheart” on the heels of Meg Ryan and Julia Roberts. Yet in person, neither one of these two actresses are known for being sweet or light on her feet. Ryan is quiet and introverted while Roberts has a biting whit and doesn’t seem to “suffer a fool.”
So who is Witherspoon really? Is she the charmer from Sweet Home Alabama or the entitled star on display in that matter-of-fact police report last weekend in Atlanta?

“It's a PR nightmare ,” Paul Dergarabedian says, Chief Analyst at Hollywood.com, “particularly for a star who's not known as being edgy. But it definitely raises her profile right now, for better or for worse.”

Still, the damage is done, and there's no undoing it, says Janice Min, editor in chief of the Hollywood Reporter.

“It's a terrible thing to happen to someone with this sort of image. She's not 22. She's a mother of three. Thank God they didn't kill someone. It's a perfect storm of terrible: the time of night, the way she's reported to have behaved, and her using celebrity as a way out."

"In terms of her career, it comes at a vulnerable point," Min says. "She hasn't had a major blockbuster in quite a while. For the movie she's doing right now, it creates problems because the narrative will be about her being arrested while she was filming it. I thought her apology was as good as you can get. She said the right things. But an apology can't erase the facts. It's in such stark contrast to the public perception of her."
The facts have been laid on the table, and Ms. Witherspoon has been found guilty... But are there ways to diminish this story’s impact on public opinion?

PR Whores : Taking Strides Toward Recovery in Spite of the Boston Marathon Bombings

The PR Whores Online Reputation Management team hopes to spread this bittersweet message today: As Americans we cannot let the Boston Marathon of 2013 be known as “a Boston Massacre.”

Thousands of friends, family members and loved ones gathered to support, celebrate and cheer on their favorite Boston Marathon runners on Monday April 15th... When two explosions went off -- 2 bombs to be exact. In the course of those few moments yesterday, unexpected mass confusion abruptly hit Boston.

3 deaths (including an 8-year old child) and more than 170 related injuries quickly pushed people and hospitals to unite and serve together to help those brothers, sisters, and youth in need.

Facebook timelines, Twitter feeds, YouTube videos, Instagram pictures, social media hashtags, phone calls, text messages, sirens, and fear were all at their max in the American Northeast.

As public relations professionals at the PR Whores ORM firm we strongly believe that in spite of all this uproar, we Americans will not be shaken! The question is, “Will we let this day in history be spoken of in such a way that it affects our mindsets about liberty and the pursuit of daily community and happiness?”

We answer this question with a resounding "No!" Run your marathons Boston, Massachusetts... And let’s join together as citizens, cities, event planners and governing bodies to ensure more precautions are taken before and during high traffic events going forward.

It’s in moments like these that our team here at PR Whores sees great opportunity for professional writers , bloggers , social media and marketing experts to utilize their "gifts of gab" to impact history and public opinion in a positive light by combating negative press online with a perspective that offers consistent hope and a commitment to moving past this tragedy with unity and an optimistic outlook.
